چکیده

Increasing water temperatures because of climate change resulted in population shifts and physiological responses aquatic environments. In this study, short-term high-temperature condition effects on green algae Chlorella vulgaris were investigated at transcriptional levels. The photosystem II D1 protein (psbA) gene, a large unit Rubisco (rbcL) gene chloroplastic ascorbate peroxidase (cAPX) expressions quantified using semi-quantitative real time-PCR. psbA transcription level 45˚C for 48 72 h was reduced by approx. 2.22 2.86-folds, respectively. rbcL also 1.54 relative to the control h. Our APX results indicated that significantly increased 35˚C 24, 48, contrast, cAPX mRNA transcript 2 times compared with control. data demonstrated alteration expression could play an essential role acclimation C. vulgaris.

Phosphoproteome of the Oleaginous Green Alga, Chlorella vulgaris UTEX 395, under Nitrogen-Replete and -Deplete Conditions

The unicellular green alga, Chlorella vulgaris UTEX 395, represents a promising biocatalyst for renewable biofuel production due to its relatively rapid growth rate and high lipid accumulation capacity (Guarnieri et al., 2011, 2012; Gerken et al., 2013; Griffiths et al., 2014; Zuniga et al., 2016). Prior analyses have unveiled the global proteome dynamics of C. vulgaris following nitrogen deple...

Combined effect of copper and cadmium on Chlorella vulgaris growth and photosynthesis-related gene transcription.

Chlorella vulgaris was tested to assess their toxicities in freshwater contaminated by the metal compounds of copper (Cu) and cadmium (Cd), both singly and combined. Exposure to 0.5 and 1.5 microM Cu or 1.0 and 2.0 microM Cd alone significantly decreased algal growth and chlorophyll content and increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) content. Two-way ANOVA analysis shows that the combination of...

Ecotoxicity tests using the green algae Chlorella vulgaris--a useful tool in hazardous effluents management.

The treatment efficiency of laboratory wastewaters was evaluated and ecotoxicity tests with Chlorella vulgaris were performed on them to assess the safety of their environmental discharge. For chemical oxygen demand wastewaters, chromium (VI), mercury (II) and silver were efficiently removed by chemical treatments. A reduction of ecotoxicity was achieved; nevertheless, an EC50 (effective concen...
